Homemade Arbi ( Colocasia ) Sabji Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500 gms arbi (Colocasia)

  • 2 big onions chopped into long ( optional)

  • 1/2 tbsp ginger chopped finely

  • 1 green/ red chili chopped finely

  • 1 tsp ajwain ( carom seeds )

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1-2 tsp red chili powder

  • 1-2 tsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin powder)

  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tbsp amchur ( mango powder)

  • 4 tbsp oil

  • salt to taste

  • coriander leaves for garnishing


Method:

  1. Peel ,wash and dry the arbi then cut into long or cubes as per your choice.

  2. Take a heavy based pan heat oil when hot add the ajwain, turmeric powder, ginger, chili and onions. Cook the onions till soft then add the chopped arbi.

  3. Cover and cook till it is soft stirring at intervals then add all the other spices without the amchur powder. Mix well and cook for another one minute.

  4. Remove from flame and then mix the amchur powder.

  5. Remove in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.

    Serve this yummy arbi sabji with chapatis or paratha.
