Homemade Aloo Toast Recipe

Ingredients for Masala:

  • 6 boiled and mashed potatoes

  • 1 green capsicum chopped finely

  • 2 onions chopped finely

  • 2 green chillies chopped finely

  • 1 tsp ginger chopped finely

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp amchur (mango powder )

  • salt as per taste

  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves

Ingredients for Toast:

  • 12 big slices of white bread or multigrain bread

  • 2 onions chopped finely

  • 2 tomatoes chopped finely

  • 1 cup nylon sev

  • 2 tbsp chaat masala

  • green chutney

  • sweet chutney

  • some coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan saute the onions, green chilli and ginger till the onions are pinkish in colour. Then add the capsicum and all the spices, cook for a minute or two. Lastly add the mashed potatoes and mix well and cook for another five minutes. Remove from flame and garnish with coriander leaves. The aloo masala is ready.

  2. Take a slice of bread apply a little butter on one side then turn the bread and apply a little green chutney over it and then spread a little aloo masala on it.

  3. Take a non stick pan place the bread with the butter side on it and cook on low flame till the bread is toasted and crispy. Remove in a plate. Repeat the process for all the bread slices

  4. Sprinkle some chopped onions, tomatoes, chaat masala, sweet chutney, nylon sev and coriander leaves .Cut into half and serve with ketchup or green chutney.
