Homemade Aloo Palak Sabzi Recipe

Ingredients :

  • 2 big bunches palak ( spinach)

  • 6 small potatoes boiled

  • 2 onions chopped finely

  • 3 tomatoes chopped finely

  • 1 -2 green chillies chopped finely

  • 1/2 tbsp chopped ginger

  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic

  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida

  • 1 tsp jeera ( cumin seeds )

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp jeera powder ( cumin powder )

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. Wash and boil the potatoes and chop them into big cubes. Keep aside for future use.

  2. Remove the stalk of the palak. Wash it and allow it to dry then chop it roughly.

  3. In a pan heat 2 tbsp oil add the jeera when it splutters add in the asafoetida, garlic and ginger saute for few seconds than add the chopped onions and cook till soft and translucent on low to medium flame.

  4. Add the tomatoes and cook till soft and mushy then add all the dry spices excluding the garam masala. Mix well then add the chopped palak and aloo. Cover and cook for 4-5 minutes. Remove the cover and add the garam masala. Mix well and cook till the water dries.

  5. Remove in a serving bowl.

Enjoy this healthy and tasty sabzi with chapati or parathas.
