Homemade Rice Flour Chakli Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice flour

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder ( optional)

  • 1 tsp white til (white sesame seeds)

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • salt to taste

  • oil for deep frying

Method:

  1. Sieve the rice flour and keep aside.

  2. Boil the water with all the above ingredients excluding the rice flour. Once the water is boiled remove from flame and mix the rice flour in it. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes.

  3. After 20 minutes mix this mixture with the help of a spoon to make a semi soft dough. If required 1-2 tbsp of water can be added.

  4. Make equal size balls from the dough. Take a chakli making machine and place 1-2 rice balls in it ,till the top.

  5. Make the chaklis on a plastic sheet till all the dough is used up.

  6. In a kadai take some oil for deep frying. Heat the oil till it is hot. Slowly one by one drop the chakli in the oil and deep fry on medium flame till it is golden brown on both sides.Repeat the process till all the chakli are deep fried.

    Store it in an airtight container and enjoy with your evening tea.
