Homemade Spaghetti in Red Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Red Sauce:

  • 1 onion chopped finely

  • 4-5 tomatoes chopped into four

  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil or any other cooking oil

  • 1-2 green / red chilies chopped finely

  • 2 tsp chopped garlic

  • 1 sachet ketchup or 1 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp chili flakes

  • salt as per taste

  • 1 tsp pepper

For Spaghetti:

  • 250 gms Spaghetti boiled

  • 1 onion chopped into long

  • 1/2 red, green, yellow peppers/capsicums cut into long

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp basil

  • 1 tsp chili flakes

  • salt to taste

Method:

  1. Boil the spaghetti by adding 1 tsp oil and salt .Drain and keep aside.

  2. To prepare the red sauce, heat the olive oil in a pan sauté the garlic and onion for 1-2 minutes, then add all the above ingredients for the sauce and cook till the tomatoes are soft.

  3. Once the red sauce is cooled take a grinder and grind into a fine paste .

  4. Heat oil in a heavy based vessel saute the garlic then add the chopped onion and cook till soft. Add all the chopped capsicums , basil, oregano and chilli flakes and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then add the spaghetti, salt and mix well. Pour the red sauce over it and give it a good toss.

  5. Remove in a serving bowl.
